{heaven}

It will soon be 6 years ago that we lost my Dad to skin cancer.  There are a lot of things I miss about him.  His sparkly blue eyes, his fleshy jowls when I kissed him on the cheek and the way he said my name.
It was hard to watch him suffer.  I know he is in a better place now.

This is how I picture him, where the "big ones" never get away!

I made this layout for Malin's Color Challenge over at My Sketch World.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

{mini challenge}

Kim at Dixie Pieces gave us a little mini challenge for our first week of the Dixie Pieces Glee Club contest.
We had to pick a word out of the title we used on our layout and make a card!  Making cards is what I love to do.  :)  The title for my layout was the Beatles song, "Ain't She Sweet".  So I took the word
sweet and used it in the sentiment for my card.

 I used a real apple half coated in some red Making Memories paint and stamped it.  Sweet and simple.

Thanks for dropping by!

{contest}

My friend, Kim invited me to join the contest over at Dixie Pieces.  It is a 6 week contest called Dixie Pieces Glee Club!  How fun is that?  The weekly challenges will be based on genres of music.  There will be plenty of other opportunities to earn points as well.  I think this is just what my faltering mojo needs!  If you are up for a good contest please join us!

Here is my layout for week 1:
The challenge was to choose a title from a list of Beatles songs.  I thought "Ain't She Sweet" was  appropriate for this photo of my niece, Kate.  We had to stay true to the "classic rock" genre with our layout, which I did with the addition of love beads and a slogan button.

Happy Sunday, friends!

{mojo a go-go}

Major mojo issues here this month.  Thus the dead space on the blog.  I'm hoping to remedy that since my mojo made a guest appearance over the last few days.  :)

Over at My Sketch World, Lucy introduced her second set of sketches for the month of September.  Instead of making a card this month I altered a Starbucks Via (their instant coffee) box into a gift card holder.  I'm not being paid to say this (although I wish I was *laugh*) but this instant coffee is yummers.  I'm normally a french press my own freshly ground beans kind of gal, but this stuff does nicely in a pinch!

I also worked on a couple of the DT's monthly challenges.  Apparently I scared my mojo out of hiding doing these Halloween projects so early.  *laugh*  Whatever works, right?  :)

Here is my card for Suzann's "On the Edge" challenge:

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

{happy dance}

I am so excited to be able to announce that I am continuing on as a DT member for the card team at My Sketch World!  But that's not it!  I am also a new member on the DT at Party Time Tuesdays!!  I am beyond excited to be able to play creatively with all these talented ladies!!

I have created a card for both places.  :)  This weeks challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays is to use brads.  My challenge this month over at My Sketch World is to make a birthday card.

Here it is!

That's a whole lot of brads, let me tell ya!  :)    This will be the only challenge for the month of September at Party Time Tuesdays.  Kristie, the owner, is getting married!  Congrats, Kristie!!

Join us over at My Sketch World this month for 2 new card sketches and 2 new layout sketches!  Lucy's sketches are awesome and the DT always have some creative monthly challenges!

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Thanks for letting me share my fun news with you!
